Who Is Savannah Guthrie's Husband Michael Feldman? Inside His Career and Political Connections

He began his career in government and later served eight years in the administration of President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore. During that time, he worked as a senior adviser and traveling chief of staff to Gore.

He managed the Vice President's staff and helped shape messaging and strategy during the 2000 campaign.

Michael also served as one of the administration's chief liaisons to Congress. In that role, he provided strategic advice to help move the President's legislative agenda forward.

Before moving to the 1992 Clinton-Gore campaign, he worked within Senate Democratic Leadership as a legislative analyst in the Democratic Policy Committee and as part of the Senate Majority Leader's Democratic floor staff.

In 1991, he contributed to Senator Harris Wofford's special election campaign in Pennsylvania.

In 2001, Michael helped found The Glover Park Group, a Washington-based public affairs firm. The company grew from a start-up into one of the country's leading strategic communications firms.

Today, he serves as a partner and North American co-chairman at FGS Global, where he leads major client accounts and helps guide the firm's growth strategy.

At home, however, Savannah paints a softer picture. In a 2017 profile by The New York Times, she described their life in TriBeCa with their daughter, Vale, and son, Charley, born in 2016.

She revealed that Michael's "breakfast game is strong," often cooking whole wheat toast with poached eggs and avocado or scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon.

But in recent days, that steady presence has been tested in ways far beyond politics or family breakfasts.

Michael stepped into the spotlight under far more serious circumstances, speaking publicly after the disappearance of Savannah's mother, Nancy Guthrie.

According to Page ix, Michael said he doesn't "have anything new to report" and described himself as "just being responsive" but feeling "mostly unhelpful" during the desperate search. He thanked the media for their "thoughtfulness."

Around the same time, Michael shared a black-and-white image on Instagram of a masked figure at the front door of his mother-in-law's house. "Someone out there may recognize this person. Please help us. Bring her home," he wrote.

A law enforcement briefing painted an alarming picture, as reported by Page Six. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said the 84-year-old had dinner with family, including daughter Annie Guthrie, and was brought home around 9:30 or 9:45 p.m.

Investigators reportedly found the scene "very concerning" and "suspicious in nature."

The sheriff said she had mobility issues and could not walk more than 50 yards alone, yet she was "of great sound mind." Her medication, cellphone, wallet, keys, and car were left behind.

Authorities reportedly believe she was "abducted" and possibly "harmed."

As the investigation unfolds, Savannah has stepped away from the "Today" show to be with her family and has reportedly withdrawn from hosting the 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

For now, Michael remains a man balancing two worlds — a seasoned political strategist and a husband navigating heartbreak in public view. As their family waits for answers, he continues to shoulder both public duties and private concerns.
